I just hit 500 subscribers on Youtube!

There are lots of exciting things happening in my daily life. My recent blog posts can attest to that. Yesterday, I saw and met Lea Salonga in person. Last night, I hit 500 subscribers on Youtube - and still counting. Yayyyy for that! :)
Since most of my performance videos are uploaded by friends like Reen and Melfay, I seldom upload stuff on my own channel. But recently I uploaded a video of my daughter Selena to show to the world what a talented daughter we have.
Thanks to my Youtube friends who have been constantly doing shoutouts for me on their videos and vlogs. Now, what could I offer these 500+ subscribers so they won't unsubscribe? Check out my Youtube channels:

An Evening with Lea Salonga... Definitely!

Our Filipino friend and photography buddy of Marl, Jay Fuerzas, called us up in the afternoon when he got hold of complimentary tickets for Lea Salonga's concert. He was able to watch the full-packed show on Saturday night and thought to give the tickets to us instead. So nice of him, really. Thanks, Jay!

Lea Salonga has been my icon and inspiration when I was starting out as a singer. So watching her live last night is one of my dreams come true. And boy was I glad when most of the songs that she sang during her second night show at the KLCC Plenary Hall were those songs that have inspired me like Miss Saigon's "I'd Give My Life For You", Les Miserables' "I Dreamed A Dream" and "On My Own", Aladdin's "A Whole New World", Mulan's "Reflection", Annie's "Tomorrow", and other songs that I can really relate to. What's amazing is she did a Malaysian song called "Tiga Malam" and got the crowd cheering with her rendition of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face". She did 2 encore numbers after she got awarded with a Brand Laureate Award.
The merchandise items were selling like hot cakes after the show. Yes, we fell for the RM30 8x10" photo of Lea (and I bought two - one for me & one for Selena) because we wanted to get her autograph. The queue was long and we waited for more than 30 minutes before she came out. But being an avid fan that I am, I didn't mind. Hey, it's my idol & my icon!

When our turn came, she gave her sweetest smile to Selena and said the sweetest "Hello!!!". I said to her "Hi bigsis222!" and she said "yeah, that's what everyone calls me". I was of course referring to the first Twittername. Last year, I was soooo flattered when she actually replied my tweet - a few days after she joined Twitter. Look at the screen cap below.
And now, I finally met her. Definitely, I won't forget this one evening with Ms. Lea Salonga. :)

Santacruzan

Yesterday was my offday and I know I should have been resting. But of course, I couldn't say 'no' to the Philippine Ladies of Kuala Lumpur (PLKL) when they asked me to be an emcee/host at their event.

Being an emcee at events has become an enjoyable thing especially when you know your audience. Today was one of them because aside from having pure Filipino audience, I also have met most of the people involved in that event.

But aside from emceeing the whole event, I also had to sing a duet song with Marl called "The Prayer" as the opening prayer after the Philippine National Anthem. I must say that I really felt the meaning of the song as I sang it as a form of a prayer - the way it should really be sung. It was made more intense because since it was the opening prayer, everyone was standing and nobody was moving - all through out the song. It was one of the best moments I've ever experienced while singing this song. Totally moving.

Of course, our creative and talented family was asked to be part of the event, too. Marl was covering the event as the photographer and Selena had to do an intermission number. She was asked to sing her winning song at the recent DiGi Filipino Superstar, "Isang Lahi". Which made me think that... hmmm, we can actually offer our services at future events like this as the emcee, photographer and singers. Family package deal, eh? LOL. No, seriously.

PHOTOS COMING SOON!

Great week done

Thank God for another great week! After Selena's winning performance at the DiGi's Filipino Superstar singing contest, we've been busy keeping in touch with friends and family.
A lot of great news and offers came in our way. DiGi called and asked Selena to guest at the Philippine Independence Day event on the 13th of June. Too bad, she'll be going back to Manila before that.
As I have mentioned in my previous post, I've got an offer to guest in a local TV sitcom here. But no final words on that as of now so I can't disclose details yet. :)
As for Marl's photography, his recently posted gallery/album called Balinese gained lots of good comments from friends and fans. These shots were from the photoshoot we did at this Balinese property. The friend of my friend owns that private property that's situated just outside the busy city of KL. It's really beautiful and peaceful there.
You can find the Balinese gallery HERE or you can view the slideshow below.

Sars as an actress? Why not!

A TV show producer approached me at work tonight (well, I was the one who went to their table first to say 'hello' so it was more of me approaching them, LOL!) and asked me if I'd be interested to be in a local TV sitcom for a few weeks. It wasn't the first time they've seen me perform. They've already seen me for the past few years. Last week, they came at the Pub with Malaysian actor Hans Isaac. But it was only last night that I've finally known them.

Sars as a local TV actress in Malaysia? Why not! :-)

PS: I gave him my namecard last night so there's a possibility he might be checking my site & blog anytime now. LOL.

Pixelpipe test: Typical KL weather

Testing on posting a landscape pic whether it will also be rotated wrongly when posted.

Ahhhhh! Landscape photo works! :)

Pixelpipe orientation test

Just testing whether this pic will get rotated on my blogs & Twitter. Yeah, it was taken a while ago. :)

One Fine Day in KL

Weeeee, we've got a beautiful weather in KL today. I don't remember seeing beautiful clouds such as these during the past 14 years that we've been coming here in this pretty city. Or maybe I just sleep too much at daytime. LOL.

PS: I posted this via Pixelpipe on iPhone. I'm still tweaking and finding out why it's rotated this way.

Don't mess with me, I just woke up

My 1,001st post on my 5th year as a Blogger :)

Well, this is officially my 1,001st blog post because I previously posted my 1,000th post without me noticing it until I went to my Blogger dashboard to make some corrections on it. Then I saw this. Can't help but screen cap it. LOL.
Reflecting on my life as a blogger for the past 5 years, I never imagine that I'd come this far. I remember my 1st ever blog post on May 10, 2005 in Shanghai, China. :)

I love writing. It makes me express myself more. Even before the word "blog" was created, I've already had a section on my website called "Journal" where I would usually put my daily encounters. Even in school, I'd write something in the school's newspaper especially things that I observe and thoughts that mattered to me.

Sure there were idle moments here on my blog - especially when I got addicted with Twitter and Facebook - but my friends and followers all know that I love blogging. I stopped blogging about my daily encounters though, which were missed by some of my readers. I remember when my Uncle Frank from California wrote to me at one point and said, "Missing your blog is like missing an episode in a TV soap opera". My website has ben changed quite a few times, was moved from one server to another, got blocked in countries like China... but my blog still survived!

Looking back on all my blog-a-blurtz through out the past 5 years... I can now say I have a wonderful, crazy, funny, bountiful, and blessed life. Thank you, God, for all the blessings. :)
