Foot Massage and Huolong Kidney Treatment

Marl and I have been regular clients at Hai Yi Foot Massage Health Clubhouse for weeks now. We're very satisfied with their foot massage priced between RMB 50-70/hour, depending on the oil and bath salt you want when you're soaking your feet before the massage. We also love their private rooms which are really clean and their service staff who are very polite. Marl was always given a masseuse and I was always given a masseur. It's okay, we're both in the same room anyway.
I have always been experimental when it comes to new things and things that people are scared about. And I've been seeing this Huo Long Kidney Treatment on their brochure. And since I had kidney problem in the past, I thought I might give this one a try. But I got a bit chicken-shit about it since the image suggested that a masseur/masseuse will apply not only heat, but real fire, on the back. The masseuse on the pic looked like ironing a flaming cloth. But then I thought, "If I have braved acupuncture and cupping last year, them I'm gonna have to brave this one, too!".

So, after our foot massage in a private room on the third floor where we would always have our massage, we were then redirected to the fourth floor where they have private rooms with massage tables. Marl was having the normal body massage priced at RMB 68/70 minutes, and I, the "braver" one, decided to have the Huo Long Kidney Treatment for RMB 88/50 minutes.

The first 30 minutes of my treatment, which was the massage phase, was so relaxing. I can actually admit that it's one of the best massages I have ever had (if you've given me a massage before, please, no hard feelings! LOL). Then after the massage, my masseur took some hot and ice cold towels, alternately putting it on my back. I was really nervous at that time because of the "flaming back" that I saw on the brochure. I then felt a very hot sensation and Marl, on the other massage bed, informed me that my back was already in flames! He took out my camera from my bag, see my pics on the left. Honestly, I didn't feel anything at all! No pain, no burning feeling, nada!

Hmmm... glad it was over... but... wait, that was just the first attempt! What the?!? My masseur just placed back the towels on my back again. This time I was pretty much excited because I didn't feel anything during the first round. But hell, I felt the heat and I was shouting "Hot! Hot!" while Marl took another pic. He said that the flames were bigger this time (though it might not look as it is on the pic). And I must admit that I was scared that it might have burned my back or something because I felt a slight burning sensation. I must have felt it this time because the coldness of the towels were already gone. But to my surprise, I felt really relieved and relaxed afterwards.

After trying out the acupuncture and Ventosa cupping massage last year, I'm adding this Huolong Kidney Treatment to my list of recommended therapies or treatments.

HaiYiXin Foot Massage Health Clubhouse is located at 78 Xiang Gang Zhong Road, Qingdao. Reservation numbers (0532) 85936878 or 85936898.
PS: I have tried masseurs #88 and #86 - both are very good. Marl's favorite masseuse is #52. We got a tip that #33 is a good masseuse, too. Everyone there is very friendly.

Torch Relay in Qingdao

Did you know that I live just 3 minutes walk to Dong Hai Lu, where the most part of the Olympic Torch Parade had taken place this morning? I really don't know how it went because I was dozing my head off to slumberland at that time. LOL. I know it's historical and I have missed a part of the history.

But even if I managed to drag my butt off the bed and even if I had to insist to have a glimpse of it, I wouldn't have succeeded. I heard that they have strict policies for this event. Only invited people for certain companies are allowed and if your house is along the street where it would pass by, you should draw back your curtains and/or close your windows.

Last night at around 7PM, when we were on the way to work, we saw that they have installed some metal bars on the sides of the road. First we wondered if they were mini ledges or raisers for people to sit on (that was Marl's idea). But I didn't quite agree with that. Later on as we drove past the empty metal bars, we then realized that they were for the red streamers or banners. On each banner, it was written, "Beijing Olympics 2008" along with the sponsors Lenova, Coca-Cola, Samsung, etc.

On the way back from work, the streets seemed very empty as they try to reinforce some police or soldiers to secure the road. We're tad lucky that we were able to go home without rerouting.

I can't wait to see some photos of it. Or maybe just see it on their local TV.

Hey it's my off today! Haha! Starbucks, here I cooooooome...

Skyy Vodka's Sex And The City Party @ Q Bar

Guess what? It's one of those rare Friday nights in my whole damn
life where I could simply kick off my dancing shoes and relax. You
see, as far as I can remember, when I was 8 years old, I'd look
forward to Fridays and Saturdays because my mom will take me to a
local sing-along bar so I can sing/perform. Until now, aside from
Ladies' Night on Wednesday, I'd look forward to Fridays and Saturdays
for that weekend feeling when everyone would be in a part mood.

But tonight, it was kinda different. We played for only 2 sets and by
10:30PM, the event for Skyy Vodka took over not only our set, but
also DJ Jboy's. The guest DJ, VJ, and dancer were equally great
though the people might have had a culture shock since they played
mostly house and techno music. In between, they did some
intermissions by themselves, singing, rapping and dancing on top of
the speakers and bar. The bartender act was great, too.

Honestly, I wasn't able to relax as it was an instinct for me to
mingle with guests. So drinking here, dancing there. Talking here,
partying there. To sum it up, it was a great night and I guess we
should have more great nights like that.

PS: The girls DJ Mixxit and Aliya were really hot!

Happy 13th Year Anniversary

Time does fly so fast...

On this date in 1995, Marl took me on a date to watch "Casper: The Friendly Ghost". I remember very well that I had to slip in a 100 peso bill to my nanny to allow me to go with Marl, provided that we'd just stay inside the mall. It was our first movie date and Marl fell asleep halfway through the movie - on my shoulder! LOL. And of course, he then gave me our first kiss... awwww! We then ate at McDonald's, but I couldn't eat because I was having "butterflies in the stomach". Oh and before I met up with my nanny again, he gave me another kiss! Or maybe, I was the one who did it this time! Hahaha!

Oh well, here's a pic of us in 1995 and another taken just recently in 2008...

Tropical Night

The heat is on and yes, it will be tonight. Tropical Night at the Qbar will be well-attended by our regular patrons and it will be very hot. So flip-flops, tank tops, and other beach wear is encouraged to beat the heat. But how can you beat the heat when there will be lots of hot girls parading tonight in their sexy beach outfits? Let's just wait and see! :-)

My website sucks! :-(

I realized that although my site looks well-designed on my Mac
browsers, Safari & FIrefox, it doesn't look the way it should on a
Windoze machine! Arrrgggh! I'm just finishing off some video editing
(for NEW videos) and then I'll get back to website authoring. Watch
out for new videos and photos!

Oops!

I'm on a process of thinking to redesign the whole site as I
discovered on a Windows machine, that my website isn't appearing
right. I mean, instead of images in transparent background, the
images are like blocks on Internet Explorer. What a bummer!

So anyway, expect an overhaul in the following weeks. Geezzzz, I
thought I'm already through with beating my brain out! NOT! More lack-
of-sleeps to come... *sigh*
