This iPod Shuffle was a gift from a female friend in Shanghai in 2005. Back then, it was THE coolest portable gadget. Of course one reason is because it's an Apple product. This 512MB player has been my companion during my workouts and quiet meditations for 5 years. Why haven't I upgraded or replaced this gadget? First, it has a sentimental value as with the other stuff that I got from friends, relatives, and believe it not, from strangers, too. Second, I have this mantra that if it ain't broken, don't replace it. I wonder how many more years this 1st generation (?) iPod Shuffle will continue to serve me.
