Unaccompanied minor

Selena has been travelling with us since she was an infant. She even has travelled with other people (with our consent) just to visit us in Malaysia. But today, it's her first time to travel alone, or as an unaccompanied minor.

I wasn't worried at all, neither was my little brave girl. In fact, she's really excited & wouldn't let go of her heavy backpack. At the check-in counter of Philippine Airlines, we were greeted by a friendly staff. The man next to us even offered to travel with Selena or to look after her on the plane. I was glad although she was already classified as an unaccompanied minor.

They let me stay before the terminal fee counter as a PAL staff ushered her to the boarding area. I felt mixed emotions. I was sad to let go off her, but I was also excited for her to go to school. She's been looking forward to it.

I stayed there until the flight time (ETD 1145 hrs) & until they confirmed that she's already seated and okay. I only waited for an hour until she reached Manila. My mom called me right away as soon as she saw Selena and I know that she has missed her beloved granddaughter. Selena's now safe with her... she's always been.
