Another Forever 25th Birthday this 2016!

So overwhelmed with hundreds of birthday greetings on Facebook, different messaging apps, email, phone calls! Thank you so much to all who have remembered, who were reminded by Facebook, who were forced to join in the greeting barrage, and those who have wanted to like and comment but didn't do it. Hahaha! I have tried to reply the comments and messages one by one but I have a security notification threatening to block me on my own page and own wall. That happens when you type on the comments too fast. So here I am, posting this on my blog to take a break from replying on Facebook.

Yesterday on the eve of my birthday, I was surprised by my godmother Susana in the room, in connivance with hubby. I was doing my routine message checking on my laptop when she came in the room together with hubby. She bought with her some food to share and my favorite chocolate ice cream!

Show went on as usual on a Wednesday night and I was kinda expecting my hubby to play the birthday song on midnight. What I didn't expect was the staff gathering around the stage, bringing in a plate of cake with a candle and a small plate of my favorite fruits! Our guests from UK gave me a big bouquet of red roses, and some friends have dropped by to give me some birthday presents. So sweet of them!

On my birthday itself, 29th (Thursday), I decided to change my Facebook profile picture with a birthday photo that hubby took of me many years ago. Coz hell yeah, it's my birthday! In that way also, friends can leave birthday comments isolated in that one photo. But then it exceeded my expectation as I woke up being bombarded by hundreds of birthday messages and comments in that photo. I was pleasantly surprised! Then we went to the office to have a birthday lunch with our Boss, our mentor and father-figure for 2 decades, Mr. John Chacko. We had our usual lunch at his favorite Ho Yee Restaurant near his office. Hubby and I then went to Low Yat Plaza to buy some IP cameras to bring back home and some techie knick knacks. I'm happy that way. LOL!

Birthday evening went normal, few friends came to the lounge to wish and gave me some gifts, but no more birthday song. Hahaha! And now that my exact birthday is already over, time to reply messages one by one, trying not to skip a thing. So hope I can continue now and that Facebook won't block me from commenting. C'mon, Facebook, it's my birthday! Well, was.

I am with who have been in denial of getting old, that's why I never wanted to grow old when I turned 25 many years ago. But I guess age is catching up when it comes to celebrating it as I'm more contented and happy in a simple way, contrary to the big parties I have thrown during my birthdays in my younger years.

Anyway, I'd like to thank all who have remembered, who were reminded by Facebook, who were forced to join in the greeting barrage, and those who have wanted to like and comment but didn't do it. If you missed greeting me, just click on my Facebook post above! Late greetings are as good as the other greetings so don't worry! LOL!

Sarita Carreon for Del Monte Pineapple Tidbits TVC 2015

It's been airing on Philippine TV for a year now. In fact, it started airing around September to October 2015 after I left Manila. And I have never seen a clear copy of it until someone sent me this on the eve of my Forever 25th birthday! And what a perfect timing because I also received good news from my modeling agent Bon that this TV commercial is up for an extension! Wooohooo!

I had fun memories during the shoot. My co-talents were Angelson Rieta (daddy), Francine Diaz (girl), and the wonder boy, Nhikzy Calma. My 'kids' in this project have their own acting careers. You will see the wonder boy Nhikzy on ABS-CBN's Sunday variety show ASAP, strutting and doing a showdown with other famous celebrities. It was directed by the great tandem of Nick and Mike, and the assistant director was Direk Jules Dacanay.

I saw the RIOT logo on top and searched Youtube and found the channel riotvfx01 posted this. Must have come from them.

Anyway, here's the 30-second TV commercial for Del Monte Pineapple Tidbits:

It is my birthweek and it is Cyber Sale Week in Malaysia!

It's my birthweek and hell yeah, it's Cyber Sale week in Malaysia! Everyone's going gaga over the different online store's special discounted prices... especially me! And yes, I've been looking forward to this and have already listed what I wanted to buy. It happens once a year and I'm not sure if it's on the same dates everywhere year but this 2016, it's on 26-30 September. My only dilemma is whether they will be delivered on time to me before we check out this weekend.

But hey! I ordered these goodies from different websites at 6AM just before I hit the bed and when I woke up at 3PM, the hotel concierge called up in my room and told me they'd be sending over my parcel. That's fast! Pretty cool, huh? Now I'm waiting for other stuff that I ordered from the other online shopping sites. And this is how I will celebrate my birthday this year! It's on September 29, if you may ask. *wink*

Here are my recommended Malaysian sites to shop on from 26th until 30th of September:
Cameralah.com
Lelong.my
11street.my
Groupon.my
Lazada.com.my

HAPPY SHOPPING!

Great Asian Adventure 12 - Arriving Ayutthaya On A Train

Here's the 12th episode of our Great Asia Adventure upon arrival in Ayutthaya after the 12-hour sleeper train trip from Chiang Mai. As you will notice, I didn't put any blooper  intro in the beginning as we were so tired and sleepy and we didn't have any mood for any fun - yet. Watch it in HD! :)

Funday Offday: Imelda & Joshua's Birthday at DARC

It was a special weekend at DARC as Joshua was celebrating his 17th birthday (4th of September) while his mother, our very good friend Imelda, celebrates hers a day after (5th of September). It has been their family tradition to have one celebration. And I believe it's always practical to do so.

For this special occasion, our friend Terry Teo, owner of DARC, asked our daughter Selena to fly in from Manila for the weekend to join in the celebration... without his wife Imelda's knowledge. So last Sunday, surprising Imelda was a success (which you will see on the Part 1 of the video below). Followed by a simple yet fun celebration for Joshua, their only son.

Surprising Imelda (from top): Nanay Susana, me, Marl, Selena, Imelda, & Eljosh
The day was filled with so much fun as the Youth Equestrian Stars (YES) Group of DARC along with the mastermind Kuya Terry, prepared 3 cakes for the birthday boy... 3 beautiful cakes not to be eaten, but to be smeared on the face! Yes, they're THAT prepared! LOL! We also danced, played games, had a great dinner, and just had a pretty good time wiping off the icings on our faces!

Denai Alam Recreation and Riding Club (DARC) in Shah Alam is owned by our family friend Terry Teo, husband of Imelda, so whenever we're free on Sundays, we always go there to relax and spend time with their family. For more info, visit www.darchorse.com.my.

Great Asian Adventure 11 - Night Train from Chiang Mai to Ayutthaya

Here's the 11th episode of our Great Asian Adventure... yup, you heard it right - 11th Episode! I know that we are still on Day 3 but since we have soooo much to share with you all, hence it came up with already 11th episode, as we didn't want to rush things up in sharing our adventures with you.

In this episode, we went back from a 1-night sleepover in Pai all the way back to Chiang Mai, straight to the Chiang Mai Railway Station. We then took the 12-hour sleeper train all the way to our next destination - the ancient city of Thailand, Ayutthaya. Watch the video to see!
