Filipino Christmas Party in Qingdao 08

I'd like to share with you this video of the recent Filipino Christmas Party here in Qingdao. Lots of fun, laughter and happy faces! :-)

Sarita as Michael Jackson on Christmas Eve 2008

This is my Michael Jackson impersonation that I performed at the Qbar for Christmas Eve. A lot of people have been waiting for this repeat performance . This was my second MJ performance ever and it's way better than my first one. It even got more entertaining and funny with my flying shoe at the end. LOL.

I've been featured on Christmas Chaos video

Reggie Soriano is one of the Fil-Am's I've met on Youtube recently and who was also featured in Jason Telmo's NoyTube and Christmas Collaboration videos. Reggie is a great video editor.

Anyway, I am so flattered that I got featured in his great Christmas Chaos video with Samurye72.

With NoyTube, Christmas Collaboration, IWAY and now Christmas Chaos - I'm getting more and more friends and subscribers on Youtube! Thanks, Reg!

My IWAY video

I was fortunate enough to be chosen as the IWAYee on this festive season by a friend on Youtube, Domingo0022. IWAY is Interview With A Youtuber and it's been going around Youtube, interviewing Youtubers to get to know them better. I still can't believe that I've been IWAYed! Anyway, hope you'll like this interview as much as I enjoyed doing it. Merry Christmas everyone!

Our 1st White Christmas

Marl and I on our first White Christmas

Jboy, Sarita and Pam

Eskimos Jboy and Marl - and the naked Mother & Child statues covered in snow

Marl on the street of Qingdao

Smiiiile... though my fingers are aching...

It snowed this morning. I just had an hour sleep and Marl woke me up to tell me that the ground was pure white of snow. It didn't excite me much as I just got into the alpha mode of my sleep. But still he managed to drag me out of the bed and he had me put my winter clothes on.

We had fun during the first few minutes in the snow. It was nice to see the kids running in the park within our subdivision, making their own snowman and throwing snowballs to their friends. Everyone was happy, including me. With Marl beside me, it looked like a perfect white Christmas.

But the cold started to bite my fingers off! Then it went numb eventhough I wore a pair of gloves and I even thought that I have lost my nose. Our DJ Jboy and lobby singer Pam followed us in the park and of course, we had to smile for the camera and laugh amidst the biting cold. I was so thankful when we were leaving the park, I couldn't wait to get back in my room. But, oh no! Marl suggested that we hit the seaside infront of Silver Garden to take some photos of the snowy shore. Darn! I had no choice, but keep my hands inside the pockets of my jeans. Again, "smile for the camera" eventhough I was starting to get a little grumpy because of the cold.

When we went back home, I plugged in the hairdryer and just heated my hands and feet up. Who ever thought that a white Christmas is THE perfect Christmas?!?! No way! Sorry to burst your bubble, guys, but if you haven't celebrated Christmas in the Philippines, then you haven't had a perfect Christmas yet.

Merry and happy

Though we are very busy with different stuff this month, Marl and I are enjoying time with friends especially after our gigs. Lovin' it!

Chic Nite @ Q bar and Winter Ball in Qingdao

It was a great night overall. We were dressed in our Chinese traditional dresses or "Chi Pao" because it was Chic Nite at the Qbar. The staff were not only in their Chi Pao's but also they were madeover beautifully, just like how Chinese women looked in the old Shanghai days.

The guests then came from the Winter Ball 2008 at the Shangri-La ballroom. The women were all dressed so elegantly in their expensive long gowns. The gentlemen came in their tux, bow tie and the likes. They all look so beautiful.

We had a different pole dancer tonight, much to the delight of the bar's patrons. And everyone was just in a party mood: drinking, laughing and dancing.

It was indeed a great winter evening. Brrrrrr!!!

Marlou in That's Entertainment

This video was shared by our friend and an Elvis tribute artist, Eric Alvarez. Eric used to be one of the Smart Guys dancers and a regular in the now-defunct afternoon teen show, That's Entertainment. Marl carried the name MARLO SILVERIO of That's Entertainment's Tuesday group. To all you who didn't have a chance to see how he looked like during those days, now is your chance! LOL. My husband looked sooooo cute here!

Bruised lee on pole (dancing)

They have finally installed the much-awaited pole in Qbar. Yes, we already have a dance pole and I get to try it for the first time yesterday! I've never been to any pole dancing class but I have tried climbing up a pole before - a cheerleading stunt - but it wasn't qualified as pole dancing. It was more like pole climbing. LOL.

So anyway, yesterday afternoon, I was invited to judge for the hotel staff singing competition. I couldn't wait till the contest was finished because I wanted to try the pole before going back home to prepare for work. So I did. With my leggings and boots. I managed to go round and round - on the base of the pole. LOL. I was like a kid riding my favorite ride while screaming "weeeeeeee!". LOL. Then I tried the seating position in the middle of the pole, much to the amazement of the staff. So I thought, "hmmm, that was easy!" then gave it another shot. Our manager pushed me way up - yes, literally pushed me way up to the pole. Reaching 2 feet below the ceiling, I couldn't let go of my hands, arms and legs from the pole that I actually looked like a monkey grabbing the branch of the tree! Hahaha! Yes, a monkey slipping down the pole. LOL.

So Marl and I had an early dinner at home so that we could go to the bar early so I could try the pole with more skin contact. I was quite successful in doing the seating position several times, the first trick that I know! I tried to do the other tricks but since my midsection is not strong enough (yes, I haven't been working out intensively for almost 2 years now and, yes, I stopped doing my yoga and Pilates - again!), I couldn't lift my legs up to the pole. I tried and tried, until my ams grew tired and muscles went sore.

When we got home, I checked my arms - no bruises. I checked my legs - a lot of tender spots, and painful, too! My legs are bruised! I'm bruised-lee bruised. And I know they will turn blue/black tomorrow. Will update y'all! Thanks for tuning in.

My daughter is a singer (with videos!)

Last month, I've posted something about my daughter Selena when she won the second place in her school's singing competition. Of course, a proud momma blogging here! Anyway, last Saturday, I got overly excited when the VCD of her performance reached Qingdao, through the kindness of my friend Pamela's mom, Tita Alicia.

I cried when I saw her on the video which we played on Jboy's computer after work. I can't believe that she can sing and perform like that. Simply because when she's with us, she's the daughter of her singing parents. She gets intimidated by us, maybe. In fact, she would often say that she's the no.1 fan of Mommy and Daddy.

I feel so proud of her and at the same time, I could actually feel what she was feeling at that time. Maybe because I'm the mom.

This is her first ever attempt to sing in public, much more to compete in a singing contest. And though she was never trained formally in any music or performance school, she won the second place. It's a natural talent in her, well, what can you expect? But my mom trained her the way my mom trained me when I was young. I kinda reminded my mom though, not to be hard on my daughter. But I'm letting my mom do her thing because I know she can bring out the best in my daughter Selena. Anyway, she's the one who "raised" my daughter.

I'm planning to enroll her for proper training, though. I mean, my daughter, not my mom. LOL.
