Friendster, Facebook and site server updates

Before I start sending out my newsletter to my mailing list, I have
invited all my friends in Facebook and Friendster to be the first
ones to check my site out. Some of them complained my site wouldn't
load, when I pointed my domain out to my third web hosting which
doesn't show any ads on my site. So, I'm reverting it back to my
second web host which is Tripod Lycos.

Thanks a lot for the comments, guys!

Duplicating my site

Alas! My REAL SARITAONLINE website is working seamlessly.

Now as for those of you accessing my site through SARITAONLINE.COM:
I have removed all my files from my Tripod Lycos account and tried another hosting hoping it would work better. My new hosting doesn't have Tripod navigation bar ads splashed on top of all my pages, but one problem is evident - my Google ads on each page on the right wouldn't show. Except here on my blog. So to new visitors, it would look like my website content isn't centered at all. No, my Google ads on the right are just not showing at all. Hope I can fix this before I fully relaunch my website again. :-)

For comments and suggestions, please let me know. You can also sign the guestbook.

Wish me luck!

Ok, I'll behave now

Now that Blogspot & Blogger sites are accessible AGAIN in China, I will try to behave and not complain about the sites being blocked here. I'm just thankful that I can at least access my site! Thank you, China!

IMPORTANT: What's the deal with the real?

If you’re seeing the Tripod Lycos bar on top, that means you’re surfing on my DUPLICATE website on Tripod, which I have made specially for my friends in China.

The REAL SaritaOnline is residing on .Mac which can’t be accessed in China. For whatever reason, right after paying receiving my .Mac one-year renewal as a gift from a dear friend, the Great Firewall of China or GFC, has blocked all sites from .Mac.

However, only the websites are blocked. So if you encounter any sites starting with http://web.mac.com... sorry, the GFC has got it before you do.

To my surprise, I just found out yesterday that all published galleries on .Mac are still accessible. If you’ve got galleries up on .Mac, they can still be accessed in China.

So if you’re in China, go ahead and bookmark http://www.saritaonline.com, or simply write my site as simple as saritaonline.com on your browser.
If you’re OUTSIDE of the Great Firewall of China, you can bookmark
http://real.saritaonline.com. Don’t worry, updates on both sides are simultaneously done - until further notice.

Have a nice day everyone!

Site on test mode

I’m uploading this whole new website for test mode. Both uploaded on my .Mac account (for friends living outside China) and my Lycos account (for friends living in China). Just checking how it appears on different browsers & from different users. Tell me how it appears on yours. Suggestions, comments and feedback about the new website are welcome.

Also, don’t forget to sign my GUESTBOOK before you leave :-)

.Mac websites blocked in China

It’s disturbing to know that although my site is viewable, my friends in China are having difficulty in doing so. Apparently, there are more than 30,000 internet police hired to gather and block information to its people. You know China, they can easily do that.

The main host of my site, Freewebs, has been blocked since last year, although I’m a paying member. So I ought to find a better server with .Mac, which didn’t fail me until I decided to be a paying member again in April this year. My friends in China were disappointed to see my site. I told them they didn’t have to be disappointed because I haven’t updated it since I left China in October last year anyway.

So my main goal now is to find a solution for this by finding a proxy tunnel for it. I ought to stay with .Mac because of its features that serve my site very well.
