Highest sales record

It's the last day of November 2006. It was definitely a great month for the band. And it was extremely great for the Lobby Lounge staff of the Shang as well. This month, we were able to have the HIGHEST SALES breaking the record for 20 years!!! Congratulations! They're lucky because all the staff of LL has gained points and therefore will have the best year-end bonus among other employees of the hotel. We are very pleased to be part of this success.

Down under to Shang

It was a rather boring day. I didn't accomplish much today except rehearsing. The rest is the pretty old boring stuff. Marl and Jan are down with flu and I'm hoping it doesn't get worse.

It was quiet at the lounge as well. People were surely dead as if we were just an MTV screen onstage! But it's not only the lounge, but other outlets as well, in fact the whole hotel. There have been lots of security all around and outside the hotel. We had to take longer break after our 2nd set. They didn't want us to play as the Australian Prime Minister John Howard walks in who will be staying in town for the next 2 days I guess. I'm not really sure why he's here except from the concept that he wanted to see me. LOL. But I don't know why he just passed by me as he walks on the red carpet. Maybe because I was wearing black and he has night blindness. And I don't know why I said that. Joke. LOL.

The truth on A1

Because I didn't have any rest, I tried catching cat naps all through out the day. And eventhough the race was interesting because of the rain, the crowd suddenly went silent for a few minutes when Alex Yoong of A1 Team Malaysia dropped drastically from 4th place to 14th place. And during that time, I was able to catch another nap. But when he had a pitstop, the crowd cheered and woke me up. I stood at once and clapped with the crowd, without knowing the reason why I was clapping. I asked Jan, "what happened?", while clapping after wiping my eyes. Hahaha! And after his pitstop, he was unstoppable from taking over cars and finished at 7th place. By then, the crowd just kept on cheering and definitely kept me wide awake.

Torpid

It's been a torpid day as I spent most of the time packing stuff. I just went out to send out money for our house renovation in Cebu in the afternoon then went back to the hotel again. Was too lazy to go around and window shop.

But after Marl's work at 10:30PM, we rushed to take the KL Monorail to Park Royal in Bukit Bintang to catch the last set of our sister band there. We were treated (unexpectedly) by Rob & his wife Joanne.

When we went back to the hotel at 1AM, we moved rooms. Now, we're back at the MarRitz Suite. Got my Wi-Fi back, baby!!!

38 hours

That's how long I've managed to stay awake, with cat naps in between, since Saturday afternoon. We had to wake up at 7:30AM yesterday for the A1 Grand Prix, so I tried going to bed at around 4AM. But no success. Only had headache when I finally got up for the long day. I've mentioned in my previous blog entry that we stayed until 5PM in the circuit and we were back in the hotel by 7PM. Had a power nap for 20 minutes and was able to sustain my energy level at work until 12:30AM. Did my computer stuff until 4AM, hit the bed at 5AM. Had a fair enough rest but still my body is still yearning for more. We finally asked the management to move us back to the 3rd floor and they managed to put us back to the MarRitz Suite. So I had to pack our stuff tonight while Marl would sing his heart out, then maybe see some friends, then we'll be moving rooms after that. I will surely have a good rest afterwards then!

A1 Grand Prix in KL 2006

We knew that it would be a long day. We watched the 1st A1 Grand Prix when we were here in KL last year that's why we know. But this time, we couldn't get any transportation from friends, most of them were not really interested. So we had to leave the hotel at 8AM today and walked to KLCC's LRT station. We needed to catch the free shuttle ride from Bangsar's LRT station at 9AM. We reached Sepang at 10AM and we were already watching the A1 Sprint Race at the Grand Stand at 11AM. It was a hot day, but I loved it. I seldom could get sun these days, weather has been unpredictable. After the 1st race, we had lunch. There were a few food stalls but we chose Burger King. It was definitely a loooong wait in between the 2 races: Sprint & Feature. There were a few parades of some cars and the drivers right before the Feature Race which warmed things up a bit. Before the Feature Race, we saw some Shangri-La staff in the crowd and we joined them. It was definitely fun to be there and to feel the excitement. What made it more exciting and funny was this guy sitting on the last row (we were on the 4th row of the lower deck, right infront of the Malaysian Team's garage), who kept shouting funny comments which kept us entertained while waiting for the race to start. It started to rain so hard as well, making it a very exciting race. The race was delayed for 15 minutes. But sad for Alex Yoong, Malaysian Team driver, who did his very best, starting as a 4th place, but had problems during the first part of the race when it was still raining. Heard that he had problems with the tyre, like it had too much pressure on it or whatever. What do I know about it?!?

As what I said last year, the patriotism of the Malaysian people was so touching and something one can be proud of. It's like an hour when Malaysian gather together to have one goal - support their team. I'm a Filipino but for that special moment, I felt like a proud Malaysian, too. It was truly an overwhelming experience.

But because we were worried with the traffic jam once the race ends, we made sure that we were already on the bus before 5PM. The tread from the circuit to the parking lot was around 10-15 minutes. Which means we left the circuit a lap earlier. Anyway, we already knew that Alex Yoong wouldn't be able to make it on the podium. But he did really good. I wasn't interested who was going to win, I don't know anyone except for Alex Yoong.

Thanks to Big O and Jack of A1 Team Malaysia for another great opportunity!

A1 season again

Tonight was a very busy evening at the lounge again. Although the people were more laxed to clap after each song, most of them would still listen when we'd play nice songs and all of them would watch when we'd play fast songs. Thanks to our new friends from Norway (not all Norwegians, though, right Khalil?) who have supported us the past nights. They also gave bottles of wines for us, thanks for that!

A1 Grand Prix is here in KL again. We've got free tickets so the 3 of us are going there tomorrow. It's almost 3:30AM and I'm still awake. Need to get up at 7:30AM because we need to catch the train to take the shuttle bus to the Sepang Circuit. It will be a long day tomorrow. I'm lookin' forward to be burned under the sun. Can't wait. Need to sleep now. Tuh-tah!

More puzzles

I'm just fascinated with the puzzle pix that I've added more puzzles. Couple of the pics were "never seen before" online (which might give you a good laugh or smirk LOL), but one of them was posted on my old photo gallery in Picturetrail before. Try to solve them if you're bored! Tell me what you think of them.

MY PUZZLES

Usual meal

Breakfast is out of the daily meal for us because we always wake up at around 3PM. I'd turn on the kettle and heat some water for my coffee. Then I'd have chocolate bread with it. My favorite is the Gardenia chocolate muffin. If Caltex Star Mart doesn't have that, then I could settle for chocolate Twiggies.

The next meal would be at 7PM and since I've already tried ALL dishes from the room service menu, I would either have Nasi Lemak, Nasi Goreng or Spaghetti Bolognese. I could never go wrong with any of that. Oh, I'd only have Spaghetti if it's mixed by Marl. We'd usually ask for chili ketchup and cheese and he'd mixed with the already-mixed meat sauce. We would usually have frenzy over my spaghetti when he does that. I've tried mixing it by myself or Jan would try it by herself, but nothing could come close to Marl's spaghetti mix.

Last meal would be supper after work, I would usually have 4 pieces of white toast, a hot chocolate and a mixed fruit platter. Just enough to fill my stomach. I don't like eating too much after work. Marl and Jan would always change their orders but I'd stick to my supper.

Of course, I'm taking my daily vitamins and health supplements like 1000mg Vit.C, 400I.U. Vit.E, cod liver oil caps, 1000mg Spirulina, and some herbal stuff like Pei Pa Koa syrup and Agaricus mushroom extract in capsules. So I'm still almost complete with nutrients that my energetic yet overworked body needs. That's very important.

Fagged out

Lots of my friends think I have lost more weight during our stint here. I thought it was just me, but also the people around me thinks the same way. I know I have lost a lot of weight when we were in Cebu, after gaining a lot during my surgery. I'm supposed to have gained weight already by now. But I don't know what's happening.

Anyway, tonight was another great night. People stayed until 1AM. The staff were already tired and they were mouthing us to stop already during our last song. The bar was closed anyway. Lots of my new friends from Norway and Hongkong enjoyed their time. But during the last set, I was already starving and had to rush back to the room to get our supper from room service.

Maybe I'm just freakin' fagged out...

Wishlist is back

Since holiday season is coming our way, I've decided to bring back my WISHLIST page. I took it down some time after my birthday last year. It was done for plain fun. But over the past year, friends have been asking me about my infamous wishlist and since it's a secret link, I'd just give the link itself. Now, I've updated it, made it simpler and publicised it.

Again, this is just for plain fun. But I'm not stopping you if you're really generous enough! LOL.

Merry Christmas in advance and may the spirit of Christmas be always in our hearts!

MY WISHLIST
(You can also find the WISHLIST link from my front page)

Just the right crowd

Tonight was not sooo full-packed but we have the right audience to get us motivated. Unlike other nights when the lounge would be overflowingly full-packed, but only few would pay attention. It was rather fun tonight. Everyone was just enjoying themselves with the songs we played. Most of the crowd were into "musicals" and so we gave them what they wanted. Most of them stayed until our last song.

They even requested for an encore after our supposed last piece. I then asked them if they prefer a slow one or fast one... "faaast". We have lots of fast songs so I had to ask them again, "rock & roll?", nobody answered. Hmmmm... "Sexy?", they shouted to agree and somebody even said "very sexy!". I joked and said, "Very sexy? You will have to pay for it then!", then everybody laughed. But of course we gave them something wild and energetic for our encore. It was just the right crowd for us. Indeed a great night. I really enjoyed myself as much as they enjoyed themselves.

Puzzle me

If you've been visiting my site for a few years now, you would still remember my puzzle pic on my front page. It was an unsolvable one though, because it's just a puzzled picture. Except for a few friends who have really printed it out and cut the pieces out and really solved my puzzled pic (di ba, Trish? LOL). One friend just downloaded it to his PC, cut and paste the pieces into a new image till he solved it. That's what boredom can do!

Well if you're bored right now, you can also try the crazy stuff my friends did. But this time, no printing or cut-and-paste will be done. Just click HERE and have fun!

NOTE: Thanks Sis Linty for informing me of the non-working link. I've fixed it. Enjoy!

Damn spam

I can't believe the spam mails I've been receiving lately. In just 5 hours, I have 3o+ mails, only 2 are mine. One time, I accidentally deleted an important mail from somebody because I didn't recognize the email add. Lucky are those who use web-based mails like Yahoo, Hotmail or Gmail because their spamguards are good. I'm using a domain POP mail that came with registering my domain saritac.com with Namezero and aside from the fact that it only has 10MB space, everything goes through it even viruses, junk and spam mails. Luckily, I've installed Mailwasher to filter my mails before retrieving it to my Outlook Express. But still, the spam mails are becoming worse. I don't know how to solve it!

Finally met the Big One

After 7 weeks since we came back on October, we finally met the new GM, Mr. Jarlath Lynch, tonight. He went to the lobby to have a meeting with somebody from the Shangri-La Headquarters and listened to us occasionally. Spoke to him after our 3rd set. I hope he had a good impression of us.

Wardrobe mishap

We have quite a few costumes that we bought from the Philippines. They came in different colors that are pleasing to one's eyes. And most of the staff ang guests like our dresses, the color and its modest yet modern style.

One of the costumes that I have was damaged, though. The part where it hugs the chest part got torn! I don't have to state WHAT could have caused it but I can tell you that it was ripped because of "size". Jan's dress of the same kind is still in tact, with no trace of rip or whatsoever. Mine was really ripped and irreparable. Funny thing was I just realized it after our show. The reaction on my face was surely priceless.

Couple of "wardrobe malfunction" happened to me before on the same stage of Shang KL couple of years back. I was wearing this cute dress where it has to be tied on the nape and at the back. One can't wear bra or put pads underneath it because it would be obvious. So I was dancing one time and something just snapped. It was a bit late when I covered up my right breast because people had already chanted in unison "woooooahhh!". Luckily camera phones were not yet in the market then so I'm guessing that I was safe from being posted on the net or America's Funniest Videos. And it happened again a year after that with the same dress, this time exposing my left breast. LOL. After that incident, I ditched that dress into my vault of memoirs. Yes I still have it. LOL.

I still have couple of minor wardrobe mishaps these days that are not as stimulating as before. LOL. So, sorry guys! LOL.

Jammin' w/ Beat Culture Band at RP

My sleep has really improved since moving into this wifi-less room. Like I'd sleep at 5:30AM or before 6AM and I'd get up at 4PM. Before I'd usually get up at around 2PM. This is good. At least, my body could really rest.

I got up at 4PM, therefore wasted half of my offday. When I looked out to the window, it wasn't a day to look forward to anyway, because it was gloomy. I just had a coffee by the window and went online until 6PM.

By 7PM, Jan and I were already in the lobby waiting for JP's car to pick us up to go to his place for dinner. But the car only arrived 45 minutes later. We reached JP's place at past 8PM and we had a nice dinner of lamb and beef. At 10:30PM, JP then sent his car to Shangri-La again to pick Marl up from his Monday stint at Shang.

Then we went to RP Entertainment Centre in Hyatt Saujana to watch the band, Beat Culture. These guys have been our friends since we started our band career. We used to work with another agent, Roca's, before we moved to John Chacko 10 years ago. Dang, their only female singer, has been one of closest friends I had when we were in Shanghai. Boozing and partying until 8AM! The group is still in tact, but since Dang just had her 3rd baby, she had to be replaced by another great singer named Wer (where or wear - don't know the spelling). It was already their last set when we came and they even asked me to jam a couple of songs before they finished. It was great to see them again. Went back to the hotel afterwards.

Rrrruff week

It was indeed a rough week. Packing, moving, no wi-fi - among other major animosities. Imagine me by the window, looking at the green view we've got, looking for monkeys swinging from tree to tree. Yeah, it has been my favorite pasttime these days - looking for monkeys! I'm gonna have a relaxing day. It's my off. And I deserve it. Yeah baby! Rock on!

By the way, there's still no news whether when we will be moving back to the 3rd floor. Hopefully soon. Our room is becoming a jungle with things slowly being unpacked. For God's sake, I couldn't even find my bag of lingeries that I always had to wash&wear! Geeezzzz!

Downgraded

I bought a dialup account with TM Net. It's reliable and very very IMPORTANT right now. Everytime I open my eyes, I always thought of going to KLCC or nearby Starbucks to get my wi-fi access. Now, I can blog and update y'all... only slower connection this time. Who cares?!?

No wi-fi!!!!!!!!

We've checked-in back to Shangri-La KL the day after they sent us out. So we just had to stay at De Palma Hotel for a night. And I was right. Our new room at the Shangri-La is facing the KL Tower. It also faces a small forest-like hill where we can see monkeys swinging from tree to tree. Real monkeys and my story is true!

When I took out my laptop and turned it on... waited for a minutes while holding my breath... NO WI-FI!!! Really, there's no access to any wi-fi hotspots and my story is true. LOL. The only wi-fi hotspot I can find is from PanGlobal building which requires authentication. LOL. Upon learning this, I contacted the Duty Manager and asked him to let me know if the current guest in our old room (facing Concorde) checks out. I need that room! I need wi-fi! God, help meeeeee!

So here I am at my old hangout, Starbucks in KLCC. Just booked a ticket for Selena for her Christmas holiday. Yipeeeeee! Can't wait!!!

You will definitely hear from me again once we get to the old room. Please, please, make it happen... sooner than later!

Ping... pong...

That's how we feel right now. We're still at the De Palma Hotel and we are packing AGAIN at the moment. We got a call from Shangri-La and said that we can check back in again. Good Lord!!! They could have just put us by the poolside there, gave us some pillows and blankets, if we knew that we're just staying out for a night!

Hahaha! *laughing sarcastically*

But it's still better staying in a hotel rather than being bitten by mean suckers. Oh well, I'll stop complaining right... till my next complaint... I hope the next time they send us out, they wil inform us at least a night before moving out and not like 2 hours before they want us to check-out. So that I can dry my lingerie the night before and not leave them wet among our luggages!

Our limousine service will be arriving very shortly to pick us up... hope that they will give us the same room... the MarRitz suite. LOL.

De Palma Hotel

It's located at Jalan Selaman 1/2, Palm Square, Ampang Point, Jalan Ampang 68000 Ampang, Selangor Darul Ehsan.

Eat's a day... but... grrrr!

If we'll look back to what we enjoyed doing today, it's the sumptuous food we had from lunch, dinner and supper. We had lunch with Nanay Susana at Restoran De Maw in Cheras, a small Chinese Restaurant, where we had some good food. On the way back, we dropped by Sungei Wang to do our little shopping.

But the great day has turned into grey when I got an unexpected call from the hotel at 4PM. The hotel's occupancy was running high so we were requested to check out at 6PM. @#$%^&*!!! How can they expect us to pack in an hour and be ready to check out? What are we, FlashJacks? But anyhow, we managed to dump our stuff in the luggages. Yes, we have half-packed our stuff last week but had most of our stuff out eventually after a few days. So we were back to one at packing today. Everyone was having a bad temper. I was having a slight fever (been feeling sick since weekend) and my 1st day period, and there I was, pushing the stuff into the already-full luggages, trying my luck to close it (which I actually did successfully - ehem!).

We managed to bring down our luggages by 6:30PM. While waiting for the next move, the 3 of us had dinner buffet at the Lemon Garden Cafe. The food was good, but I didn't enjoy it because all I wanted to do was to rest my back. My lowerback was aching because of my period and from bending when I was packing (packing with a PA not an FU, ok?!? LOL)

It was already 8:00PM and we're still at the Shangri-La. We knew that we'd be starting late tonight, it wasn't our fault anyway. They gave us last minute notice.

The hotel's limousine service took us 20 minutes away to Ampang, in a small hotel called De Palma Hotel. I know... they could have just booked us somewhere near like Concorde, Prince, Equatorial, Renaissance or anywhere somewhere near Shangri-La. But apparently, all the hotels - literally ALL - are full because of the UMNO thing. Even this De Palma Hotel, can you believe that?

The rooms are like Concorde's standard rooms, if you don't know Concorde, then just let your imagination run wild. It's basically the same - except for the mini-bar that Concorde rooms have. And you know, I'm behaved here. Oh yes I am! You know why? Because the Bilik Surao (Prayer Rooms) are just beside our room! Can't make lots of noises - especially wild ones! LOL.

Another funny thing. Our room has 2 twin beds. It's too small to be shared unless you want to be motionless the whole night, so that means I might sing Paul Anka's "I Don't Like To Sleep Alone" in the middle of the night! There were no towels at all. I had my shower and guess what I wiped myself with to get dry - my used and worn blouse! I never sweat today anyway so I suppose that it's still clean! Hahaha! The bathroom sink was also clogged and so the bubbles I made from brushing my teeth took half an hour to subside. Also, the shower doesn't have cold water at all. Only hot. Damn hot! I actually can tolerate hot water but when Marl took a shower, he kept on shouting inside the bathroom. I didn't tell him about that and I was smiling while I was dressing up. When he finished his hot shower, he complained that the water was too hot - that he thought HIS EGGS WOULD BE COOKED! Hahahahahahahahahaha! I had a good laugh at that.

We reached the hotel at 9:45PM, the lounge was already full with people who have been waiting for us for an hour. There were a group of royalties, too, who wanted their Malay songs to be played first. I didn't have much energy for dancing tonight. Besides, we wore that green tube dress again which kept dropping. It's not that I didn't want to move. Of course, I always want to give people their money's worth by putting up a great show. But healthwise, I wasn't okay. If only I could explain to them the reason why. Tsk tsk...

We only played for 3 sets. The Vision5 band from Concorde dropped by for a set. We came back to De Palma Hotel at 1:30AM, ate our taken-away supper while watching some TV drama which we can't understand. It's in Chinese with Malay subtitle - sorry, no cable here! So I turned on my laptop and I discovered the great discovery of the season... WI-FI signal baby!!! But it's too slow it kept on cutting off. But at least, this blog came through... Ahihihihi!

Peach Apple Tree is in town

The band Peach Apple Tree is back onstage at the Crossroads of Concorde Hotel KL. This is their 3rd time and we're always in KL at the same time. They became our close friends, like our brothers and sisters, not to say father (Tatay Edil). I'm happy that they're back. However, I miss Edlyn and Anita. This trip could have been the best trip if they're around to jam with us on our after-work assemblies. Our personalities jive. Crazy. Sexy. Cool.

It's time everyone flies to KL

"Whaaaaaat??!??"

That's what I said while talking to my friend Sarah. She told me that Cebu Pacific Air already flies from Manila to KL and vice versa. How come I didn't know all about this?!? Luckily, I haven't booked Selena's ticket via AirAsia yet. Now it's better because she won't have to go to Clark. She can save the 2 hour trip and just go to the Manila International Airport Authority instead which is only like 30 minutes away from Paco.

The only thing is their flights are late at night or very early at dawn. There are some concerns I need to ask them especially unaccompanied minors. So will give them a call tomorrow. I'm very excited! Yipeeeeee!!

November gallery up

I was bored to death... so I edited some of the recent pix. My friends are dying to see their faces on the web, LOL, so here it is now:

NOVEMBER 2006 on PBase. Enjoy!

When there's no one else...

A very beautiful inspirational song that's sung beautifully by Christina Aguilera. Used to sing this, or should I say, I TRIED singing this song without peeing onstage. LOL. Luckily, Jan joined URB and she sings this very well.

Truly, a heart-reaching song for someone who feels as though she got nobody to turn to. It teaches you to be strong and to trust yourself.

THE VOICE WITHIN - Christina Aguilera

Young girl don’t cry
I’ll be right here when your world starts to fall
Young girl it’s alright
Your tears will dry, you’ll soon be free to fly

When you’re safe inside your room you tend to dream
Of a place where nothing’s harder than it seems

No one ever wants or bothers to explain
Of the heartache life can bring and what it means

Chorus:
When there’s no one else, look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend just trust the voice within
Then you’ll find the strength that will guide your way
You’ll learn to begin to trust the voice
within

Young girl don’t hide
You’ll never change if you just run away
Young girl just hold tight
Soon you’re gonna see your brighter day

Now in a world where innocence is quickly claimed
It’s so hard to stand your ground when you’re so afraid
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold
When you look outside look inside to your soul

Repeat Chorus

Life is a journey
It can take you anywhere you choose to go
As long as you’re learning
You’ll find all you’ll ever need to know
(Be strong) You’ll break it
(Hold on) You’ll make it
Just don’t forsake it because
No one can tell you what you can’t do
No one can stop you, you know that I’m talking to you

Repeat Chorus

Young girl don’t cry
I’ll be right here when your world starts to fall...

Videos ok

Yesterday when I posted the videos on my youtube account, I purposely clicked on the "private" option. Thought it can be viewed on my website but wouldn't be able to been on youtube network. I was wrong. I also checked my website's stats and there were more than 50 views since yesterday. Sorry for the inconvenience. But now, the videos below are updated and can be played. Enjoy!

(Thanks Sis Linty for the tip!)

Video: Headbangin' Sarita in '98

Also taken during the same time, Jan. 1 '98, at the Crossroads of Concorde Hotel KL. Singin' was our band leader known Alex Botak (coz he's bald). My former co-singer then was Geraldine.

Kids, don't try this at home!!!

Video: Headbangin' Sarita

Video: Macarena girl in 1997

For some who don't know, Concorde Hotel KL was the 1st hotel in KL I have performed at back in January 1997. My band then was called Danger Zone where Marl and I were 2 of the 3 frontliners. It was our 1st official booking with Seagulls Promotions and in Malaysia.

This video was from my video archive. The latest dance craze then was still Macarena. Who can forget that? Taken during the New Year's Eve in 1997. Or should I say it was already Jan.1, 1998 when this was taken. Considered antique by this date. Worth a million bucks. Indonesian Rupiah I mean. Hahaha! Enjoy! More to come!

PS: The one singing beside me is not a transvestite. LOL. That's Ricky of LoveJoy band. The guys, including Marl, did a small New Year's Eve special called the Spice Gays. Yes, it was the Spice Girls fever at that time, too! You can see Marl in MY Ginger Spice outfit, hitting a tambourine, walking back & forth behind me. LOL.

Laughing trip

There's no news yet when we will be moving out. In fact, some of the things that I packed are out again coz I need to use them. LOL. It's already Friday and hope that they would really consider to retain our room. Jan can stay here with us, she's always here anyway. Besides, she has a fewer stuff than us.

Tonight was another busy evening at the lounge. With the ongoing Figo Congress, most hotels in this city centre (where Shangri-La is located) are fully booked. That's the reason why they want us to move out. But praying we won't have to move out.

There were quite a few interesting things happened tonight. A drunken guy from one of the VIP groups, came up on the stage twice, to dance - unfortunately, with me. I couldn't move at all because he was moving towards me all the time. We couldn't do anything, even the management, about it. They're powerful VIPs & they do whatever they want to do. But luckily, they didn't do anything that's not acceptable to me, the guy just danced with me onstage.

Another thing happened on our last set. I was singing a song from the musical Bombay Dreams and Marl did something funny. He tried to do the "tounge-twisting" part of the song, which he hasn't done before. I was shocked and I just started laughing until I couldn't sing anymore. The guests who were watching us were all smiling too, but clueless why we were all laughing onstage. I still continued laughing uncontrollably until my eyes were still full of tears (from laughing so hard) 3 songs after that. Very extended laughter! After we finished the set, I had to use my Ventolin pump because I was attacked by asthma from laughing. When I went down, most guests asked me the reason why I couldn't stop laughing, and again, I started laughing until we reached our room. I'm worrying that I might just lose it when we sing it the next time. But anyway, it was a good laughing trip to end this evening...

Praying for the same room

Our current room has been our room everytime we come back to Shangri-La KL for 3 consecutive years. It is facing Jalan Sultan Ismail, Concorde Hotel and Caltex. That's the reason why we can get wi-fi signal from Maxis WLAN of Concorde Hotel. If ever we would really move soon, hope they will give us back this old room which has been like our home for the past 3 years. It has some good memories behind it.

Not yet moving

I have packed some stuff since they're still not sure when we will be moving. My books, guitar, my little pink cabin luggage. It's quite difficult to pack the other stuff we're using most of the time. The toiletries are still untouched, it would be a big hassle for me if I put them inside a bag & just ramdomly search by putting in my hand to find what I need. The dresses and clothes on their hangers are still in the closet. Not easy to iron clothes. I hate ironing. The shoes are still out, I need different pairs for day & work & play. The computer-related stuff still out as well as other electronics we use. No one can stop me for touching my computer anyway. Marl still got his keyboard and speakers and other computer gadgets still out, too. Our rehearsal will be put on hold if he packs his stuff. How can we pack all these stuff when they don't even know when we will be moving out? We're kept hanging. Imagine all our stuff, to be packed in these luggages again?

For others' info, we're sent packing because the hotel is running full and will be running soooo full during the weekend. Heard they will put us in a less busy hotel. Faraway Dynasty I heard.

Guess what?

The hotel is running full until next week. So they asked us to half-pack our stuff and be prepared to move out. If it will happen, this is the 2nd time we're moving out since year 2002. I remember in Jan 2003, we were asked to move out, too, during Mr. Michael Cottan's time. But since the Mr.Cool ex-GM Richard Riley took over in 2003, we were never asked to move out eventhough the hotel is 110% full. He was a musician before and he knew that it's not easy to move in and out with all the instruments we have. But since he already finished his managerial contract with the Shangri-La, we'll have to abide by the hotel rule - all inhouse staff has to move out if the hotel is full. So now, our room looks like semi-Jurassic Park with all the stuff in the bed. Hmmmm... getting angry is not my nature and very bad for my beauty... breathe in... hmmmmm.... breathe out...

Relaxed and boozed

Those are the things that happened to me yesterday during our off. Woke up at noon and went to our agency in Cheras. Had lunch with our boss, had sumptuous Chinese food: sweet&sour pork, kangkung belacan, steamed fish, eggplant, omelet, mushroom, and 2 bowls of rice. I was so full and my tummy's happy. My pocket's happy as well because I was able to claim my hospitalization bills during my hernia surgery last April from the insurance company. Very good claim, around 98%! And our boss gave me and Marl our bonuses from a very successful stint at the Shangri-La Mactan. It was OUR booking anyway which we just forwarded to him.

We took LRT back to the city. Got off Hang Tuah and then walked our way to Sungei Wang. The weather was good and I also had so much to eat at lunch, just right ditance for an exercise. Jan bought a new fone, I helped her choose. She had RM400 budget so we had to find a mobile phone which has the right features for her. We were able to get a slim Motorola fone which has camera for stills and video, bluetooth, MP3, and polyphonic. We haggled at RM430. A good buy nonetheless. I also bought new pair of sandals which was a very good buy at RM29.90!

Went back to the hotel by monorail. It was drizzling so had to run on the way to the hotel from the Bukit Nanas station. Talked to my friend Hiyas on the phone for more than an hour. She was telling me stories about her cute daughter Jihane who's 14 months old. Rested for a bit, then went down to the lounge to listen to Marl. He was on his 2nd and last set. Some "friends" tried to get me drunk though. First they gave me Long Island Cold Tea (don't like it iced LOL). Then Wati, our lounge manager, gave me whiskey-coke. It didn't end there. I sat on the bar because the my "friends" were challenged. They have tried getting me drunk before, but since I can handle myself with drinks, they thought they have never got me drunk. Tipsy, but not drunk. So I sat on the bar with Jan. They gave me flaming B52 which I must say one of my favorite shooters. It was my first time to try Submarine, tequila in an upside-down tequila glass, submerged in a bigger glass of beer. One has to sip the beer with a straw until halfway then flip the tequila glass so the tequila will be mixed with the beer, then drink it bottom up. And that didn't stop them! They gave me this Killer Flaming Lamborghini which has 5 glasses of different stuff in a row. It's Lamborghini, Baileys, flaming Sambuca with another thing I forgot then tequila shot. It surely did shoot me right! I got a bit of scolding for Marlou but I got away it anyway. At least, I've tried it. Anyway, the next time I'll have it might be on our last night performance again! Hahaha!

Was I drunk? Yeah. But amazingly I was able to go online until 4AM, even chatted and replied emails - like in normal tone. Hahaha! Luckily, I got up without any hangovers.

Note: Had to edit the real word for "friends" to protect them. Lucky you, if you've read this post yesterday. LOL

Very busy Sunday

Sundays are supposed to be the most relaxing day we have in the lounge. But when I went down before work and saw the busy lounge, I murmured "uh-oh!" because I know it'd be a very busy night. Apparently I wasn't wrong. There were lots of check-ins over the weekend and most of them will be staying here until the 14th. From Czech Republic, Mexico, Greece, Italy, etc. So I bet the following week will be very busy for us. Tomorrow, we're planning to have a relaxing day. Might go for a swim and sauna. Might go for a walk. Or maybe just stay in the room. Need to recharge the energy I have poured out the last week because I will be needing it a lot more this week. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Tremendous request slips

It has been a very good week at the lounge. We've been full packed most of the time and last night was another great night, too. We played until 1AM because the guests couldn't get enough. Instead of playing 45 minutes on the first 3 sets, we played for an hour each. But we didn't feel it because we were enjoying our time as people enjoyed our performance. The stack of request slips we had last night was tremendous.
It's Sunday and since it's raining outside, I am just having a relaxing day. Replied a few mails. Nothing much to do. It's gonna be off tomorrow! Yipeeeeee!
(Just trying whether this post from my private mail will appear.)

Home page messed up

Freewebs has updated its features and looks. Good for us who host our websites with them. However, my home page looks a bit messed up. My Daily Contents such as Word of the Day, In the News, and Quotation of the Day, don't show up. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Nasi Kandar Pelita

Just had a hearty supper at Nasi Kandar Pelita in Ampang, near KLCC. Last time I was there was during our previous contract. Papa Jamal & Mama Siah took us there tonight to have a sumptuous meal - I had Tandoori Chicken and Paper Tosai. Marl had fish head curry and Jan had briyani rice with lots of curry gravy on top. When they reached the table, I said to myself of Jan, "hmmm brave girl". But after 2 spoonful of what she's having, Jan just turned red. It was so spicy for her. However, I really enjoyed my paper tosai & tandoori.

Note for my friend wmw: Maybe next time, I have to take photo of the food I'm eating too, so my readers will understand how the food looks like. Make them all hungry too. LOL

Saritasssss

I came across this site wherein I saw how many Sarita's are registered online, for whatever purpose it does. I couldn't find Sarita Carreon, but I found Sarita Cabusas.

My Photo Flick

I'm so engrossed and concentrated with my PBase gallery that I already have neglected my Picturetrail. I haven't visited my Pictrail account for months now and so I'm not updated with its new features. I just would like to test this Photo Flick if it will work here:

Hips don't lie

Alas, it's pay day! So instead of rehearsing today, we've got an excuse not to rehearse at all. Yeyyy! Been to KLCC, bought a new skirt at Romp. I've been on a skirt hunting for couple of weeks now bu I can't find my kind of skirt from other shops. I was about to get an M-size which hugs my hips just right, but, because I've got a narrow waistline, it's too loose on the waist. So I had to resort to an S-size which looks fitting on my hops but hugs my waist just right. That's the problem with me. Actually my waist and hips are just right, with vital stats of 36-26-36. Alright, 36-27-36 when I've just eaten a hearty meal. But I don't know why it's kinda difficult to find a good pair of pants, shorts, or skirts because it would either hug my waist or my hips. Maybe it's because of the fleshy part of my bum. LOL. So eventhough my waistline changes its measurement everytime, one thing is for sure. Like Shakira, my hips don't really lie. It's always 36. =)

Gourmet Festival in KL

It's the Gourmet Festival in KL. And I don't know what it's all about aside from it's about food (and drinks, I guess). And they're having it in Shangri-La KL this year and I guess it started yesterday. By the time we started our 2nd set, our lounge was packed YET only a few guests were paying attention to us. Lots of VIP's and regulars, too. Most of them were in their meeting mode or business talks. Besides, the green tube dress I was wearing made me feel so uncomfortable. I always feel like it's gonna drop anytime so I always have to pull it up. I have had a couple of wardrobe malfunctions before which were "successful" because something was seen. And I don't want to have another one, unless really inevitable. LOL.

The Lioness

The new Lioness pic on the home page was taken at 1AM, Nov.2, when I was about to wash my face and let my hair down. Took out my Canon 300D and had a self-taken portait while holding the cam in the air. Voila! Been waiting for a nice portrait pic because I believe it's about time for a change...

Kuala Lumpur '06 up

Kuala Lumpur '06 gallery is already up, with our October pix. Inside the gallery includes the 3 days we spent in Manila earlier in October before we flew to KL, which is also included in the Philippines 2006 gallery.

The KL '06 gallery includes the usual vain pics of mine, the new URB before & during work, with friends like Edlyn, with the Lobby Lounge staff, getting henna tattoo, celebrating Hari Raya, etc. Check it out!!! Enjoy! Don't forget to leave your comments on each photo.
