Just one of those days...

Ever woke up at the wrong side of the bed and seeing things exactly upside down with a headbanging aching brain that's trying to dig up why and how things such as these can happen to you? Yeah, for the past month, my moods had been swinging outrageously. One minute I'm all perky and jolly, next minute I'm idle. But it's still all controllable. I guess I just need to be stimulated (not in "that" way, duh?) and motivated. Or maybe I just need a break or even just an offday. Yeah, stress buildup makes me irritable, not only sometimes, but often times.

It's been almost 2 months since I had a nice day off after leaving KL. But after that, it's been work, work, work... and plain work is not really good for both my personal life and my career. It gets pretty much boring. Luckily, we'd practice new songs so that makes work a little bit exciting. I used to look forward to Sundays because we can play the music that we'd like to play at the BATS.

Hopefully, when the current band at the BATS is replaced by another band next month, the new band will compromise with us and will allow us to get an off on the first Sunday of July. Can't wait to be in a spa and enjoy the relaxation it will give.

I think I will have to contact my friend who knows a very cheap spa as early as now... hmmmm...

My favorite street pic

Definitely one of my favorite shots. Marlou took out his camera as we crossed the quiet street in Shanghai at 5AM to get a cab from the opposite side of the street. I want to do it again on a bigger street, maybe on a highway or maybe a flyover! Hahaha! To view more of my Shanghai pics, please visit http://www.pbase.com/saritajc/shanghai2005 Posted by Hello

My new goddaughter - Britney Kuipers!

I'm so pleased to share with you all that I'm one of the godmothers of my friend Apple's daughter Britney. She's isn't my 1st goddaughter but she is the first foreign godchild, I think, hahaha! Shopped some stuff for Britney and gave it to her father Robert, my new kumpare, whom I just met few days ago, but known him through chatting with Apple for more than a year now.

I'm really honored and happy to be Britney's godmom. Anyway, her mom used to look at my pics on my website, even was demanding why I never updated my pics, when she was pregnant, di ba Apple? Hahaha!

Here's my goddaughter's cute website with cute pics: www.britneykuipers.tk

Triviette (a small trivia hahaha!)

To those who are in Shanghai or who have seen Shanghai, can you guess which part of Shanghai this was taken from? Clue: Turn it sideways. Posted by Hello

Few days ago, I heard my body saying to me, "you haven't been taking too much rest". And I suddenly felt weaker. Last night, I went to bed 3 hours earlier... hmmm around 3:30AM, but only slept at 6AM. LOL

So today I'm retiring after this entry... hope I will feel better tomorrow! Ciao!

The hooker joke

It's another Sunday and another BATS day. I didn't eat dinner before work, just took dessert. It was an average night at the BATS, more on easy-to-handle crowd. Some said it's better to come on a Sunday at the BATS, when we play, because they can enjoy drinking at the bar while talking. When a live band plays there, they couldn't talk because of the loud music.

We got familiar faces in the crowd tonight. Faces we've seen sitting at the lounge for the past nights or the night before. They were kinda amazed at how lively we can be, as opposed to being lifeless and almost-like terracottas at the lobby lounge.

I've had like a few tequila sunrise & a baileys. Got me in the mood for headbanging. Our music tonight was kinda different from the past BATS gig that we had. Tonight was more on banging music, or so I thought.

We had a gynaecologist in the crowd and he's from Malaysia. And just out of naughty thinking, I noticed there are lots male gynaecologists. So I asked him.

Me: If a guy wanna see women's thingy, he can become a gynaecologist. But if a girl wanna see men's thingy, what can she become?
Doc: (paused and looked at me) Do you want a frank answer?
Me: (defensively) Don't get me wrong, it's just a naughty thought out of me!
Doc: Do you want a frank answer?
Me: Yes
Doc: A hooker!

That's the naughtiest thing I have ever asked a guy - well okay, not the naughtiest... at least, just for the past 3 days hahaha! - and that answer from Doc Shariff really cracked me up. I forgot to include in the question the phrase "in medical field". But it was a witty stuff that I won't ever forget.

So there, at least, I didn't just get pissed at the BATS. I co-created the hooker joke! Right, Doc Shariff?

It's been days since I have last blogged. I kinda miss blogging but I had been a lazy bum for the past week. I'd sleep like 7-8AM and wake up at 4-5PM. Whole day wasted in bed. And after work, I'd just surf, download stuff and chat. Hmmm, and at work, I'm getting paid for doing what I love to do: dressing up, painting my face (with cosmetics of course! LOL), singing, dancing, smiling & meeting new friends... great life, isn't it? LOL Hardest part of the day for me I guess is getting in shape. Like after blogging this entry, I'm gonna be hitting the floor for my Pilates... I like working out at this time because since I don't get tired at work here in Shanghai, I could tire myself by working out so I could have a nice sleep at... day. Geez! Posted by Hello

The BATS hot seat

It's been a tiring day. Since I got in Shanghai, this is the first time that I went straight to the bed to rest. Was tired and dizzy... or drunk?!?

Went to the hotel in the afternoon. Marlou did the soundcheck and I had my Sunday grocery time. There was a mall promo on sports stuff, exercising gears, machines, etc. I've been trying to find a mat for the past month and I was just lucky today to find one. Although a bit pricy and too soft & thin, it's okay. When we went back to the hotel, I did my Pilates workout... kinda tired because I did the 40 minute workout. And since I haven't worked out in such a long time, the workout wasn't that easy for me. Was exhausted afterwards so I took a 15 minute nap before preparing for work.

We wore a short dress for the 1st time in BATS. And it had been the most fun Sunday we've ever had at the BATS so far. My Chinese friend June and her friends arrived and started filming our set (that I can have some video clips for my site soon!). The huge and fun Australian group arrived on our 2nd set and just suddenly, the BATS was filled and S.R.O. only. Our Filipino friends Kuya Leo, Dang, Gretchen and Adrian-Lao came to visit us as well. It was such a crazy night, but most people were just watching us. It took quite a while for them to fill the dancefloor, when we were almost finishing the evening.

During our breaktime before our last set, Dang asked me whether I'd love a Tequila shot. I said, it's fine with me, as long as it' s just a shot. She took me to the BATS red hot seat and for the past 5 years I have been coming back to Shangri-La Hotel in Shanghai, it was only tonight that I've learned the real purpose of that seat! Basically, you will have to sit-lie on that barber's chair with your head hanging on top of the bar. A waiter will then go and stand on the bar, with him is a Tequila bottle with a small metal nozzle. Dang went first as I didn't know what to do. She handed me her video camera to film her and I was stunned to see that it's not a just a Tequila shot - it's a Tequila pour in the mouth! Boy, it looked fun and I couldn't wait for my turn.

At the time when I had mine, everyone was already looking at me and was being encouraging me by giving their cheers. It wasn't a good girl sight for the Aussie elders, though. So I took my seat, was placed with a table napkin on my chest and was asked to hang my head on the bar. What I didn't know and I wasn't told about was not to move my head or face. So as I was having my Tequila pour, I couldn't tell the bartender to stop so I just got up myself. The Tequila wasn't just poured on my mouth, but all over my face and my shoulders! It got into my eyes and I was kinda worried when I felt the burning sensation in my eye coz I was wearing my contact lenses. Everyone cheered and laughed when I shouted "one more!" and took my seat again. This time I told the bartender that I'm gonna wave my hand to tell him it's enough. And it worked and I finally got a nice, proper and smooth Tequila pour.

When I got back to the stage for our final set, I was wondering why it didn't have a kick on me. By the middle of the set, when we were doing our dance routines and turning and twisting... I was already feeling a bit dizzy, but I was still okay. I guess I felt mixed of tiredness from the workout earlier in the day and the BATS sets which were mostly fast. Plus, I didn't have my dinner. Last food I had was a spicy chicken fillet burger at the McDo. By the end of our evening, I was dead beat tired, but amazingly not hungry.

When we went back to our apartment, I kissed my bed first and dozed off a bit. I got up at 3AM and ate my supper and went online. I chatted with friends, especially Aubz, until just now... 8AM!

It was the fun-filled Sunday for me. Gotta go to bed now!

Taken just after our Saturday night set. Relaxing & doing my "online" stuff. It's been a tiring week... We haven't had any day off for the past 6 weeks and tomorrow it'll be BATS time again! Posted by Hello

My Music is up again!

The files on MY MUSIC page are back again! I put them down before because I needed the webspace for my photos. But now, I've got separate space for my photos so I've regained the space to put my music files into. I've added some cover songs, too. Check it out:

Evening gown in the afternoon

I chatted with one of my best online buddies, used to be the best friend I had online but due to our busy schedule, we only chat once in a while... like once in a day I guess! LOL Aubz is the female singer of Ch@terbox Band and they've been like one of the young veterans in the Hong Kong music scene. We often chat about almost everything under the sun... or the stars... (because we would usually chat at night after our work). One topic that we have recently discussed is wearing gowns. How comfortable or uncomfortable it is, she hasn't tried it while singing that's why she's wondering. I even told her a story that sometimes I have to wear gown from the moment I wake up due to functions. And she laughed, because she knows some people who would wear evening gowns even in the afternoons. It's okay. But walking in the street with your sexy evening gown and stiletto shoes is a big no-no! Hmmm, what would be the right excuse for that? Hailing a cab, maybe? Oh well... enuff said... LOL

Showtime!

An "ah-yi" (cleaning lady) came and cleaned our flat. She did the usual things. She dusted the tabletops & furnitures, she swept and wiped the floor.

After she left our bedroom, I decided to take a shower. I undressed and jumped into the shower, mixed the right temperature of water for me, I always prefer it hot which would get the mirrors and glasses brumous and misty. I did my usual stuff. I'm not the kind that would spend half an hour or more in the shower, I do that maybe once a week or once in two weeks. I shampooed, rinse, conditioned my hair. I also washed and scrubbed my body, sometimes spreading my legs!
When I finished, I suddenly realized that I didn't have my towel on the rack, it was left in my little quiet corner by the window. So since the floor has just been cleaned and swept, I felt a bit guilty if I'd drip on it. So I used the small handtowel to dry myself a bit. I got on a floor rug in my naked body and slowly walked through the room to get to the window.

I was kinda enjoying dragging the rug and walking like a robot when I noticed something... I forgot to close the curtains!!! I didn't know what to do whether to go back to the bathroom, jump into the bed and hide myself under the covers, or continue walking slowly without dripping on the floor. I chose the latter. But I didn't know which of my private parts to cover first. I remember an old joke about getting stripped accidentally in a public and instead of covering both private parts, you should cover your face instead to avoid embarrassment LOL. But I chose to cover the upper part and turned sideways (at least I'm quite confident that my bum is in a good shape! LOL). It was the longest 10 seconds I've ever had in my present bedroom! I grabbed my towel and wrapped it around my body. And as I closed the curtains, the towel dropped on the floor! It was so hilarious.

People from the construction building and office buildings across ours must have enjoyed a little showtime out of my stupidity today. They must have had a good view while I was having a shower and a good laugh after that. I was having a good laugh, too, but with a bit embarrassed look. Definitely the best showtime in the shower I have ever done and will ever do. I hope nobody took me on video! Oh no!

Happy 1st year anniversary, Brice!

URB Band would like to celebrate today. It's Brice's 1st year anniversary working with us. It's also her 1st year anniversary overseas. Congratulations Brice! More power to you and the URB band!

Freaky

We were visited by the Harmony & Rhythm band at the lounge tonight. They're currently playing in Suzhou, a city 45 minutes by train from Shanghai, and they went to Shanghai for a day on their off.

After work, Brice and I went to their table to talk with them for a while. Then we remember that we have to get our ordered food for supper from the restaurant's kitchen so Brice got up. I got up a few seconds after. I saw Brice going to the restaurant, I think 10 meters ahead of me. By the time I got to the restaurant's entrance, I saw her turning at the corner. But I was wondering why I never heard her walking on the wooden floor or I never heard a sound of her high heels whereas mine was as usual noisy as it knocks against the floor. I just ignored it. When I got to the counter, I saw our food in 3 separate paper bags. I was looking for Brice, I asked the waiter "have you seen my co-singer?". He said that he didn't see anybody except me. Thought that maybe he just missed Brice passing by, maybe Brice went inside the kitchen to get something (ie. tomato ketchup, extra fries, etc). But I already brought the 3 paper bags and went back to the lobby where Marlou and our friends were waiting. I asked them if they have seen Brice, I was thinking maybe she took a huge turn from the kitchen. They said no, Marlou even told me that maybe Brice was still inside the kitchen. Right after that, we saw Brice coming from the pantry in the lobby lounge. I was sooooooo shocked! Then I told the whole story again and she couldn't believe it. I was so sure that it was her because we were wearing the same costume. I am just not sure "what" I saw, but it still sends shivers down my spine until now.

I was told that Tuesdays and Fridays are the "dark" nights. Or maybe my eyes were just playing some tricks on me. Or maybe it's "the others" who were playing tricks on me. Whatever that is, I leave it to God, He knows best.

Blog-blog-blog

I'm sorry if I didn't blog in for a couple of days. I ran out of things to say and I was busy being a lazy bum. Nahhhh! I was busy gathering the files in my computer so that I can back them up soon. I have a 30GB harddisk but only got 4.5GB free so I will have to back up my files on CD's. I left my DVD-writer and my 120GB harddisk in KL, so I will have to rely on burning CD's this time.

Last night, we played at the BATS. Very quiet crowd but we managed to enjoy ourselves onstage. After work, Blue Heaven Band's Moises came to our place to ask Marlou to repair the 2 laptops he brought. They finished at 6AM already. I was chatting all the while in YM. I downloaded the YM Beta version, it's nice.

I overslept today and woke up only at 5PM! Replied from mails, checked some of my sites, then now I'm going to prepare for work. Ciao!!!

Money just slipped through my hands...

Last Friday was our payday and it just slipped through my hands for a day at least, after all the remittances and deductions. I guess that's the role of money in life... not be kept, but to be spent. Guess you'd agree with me, huh! Tsk tsk tsk...

John Chacko hosts lunch for everyone

I have worked with John Chacko for 9 years now. He's been my "father" all these years while I was away from home. I have grown as a professional artiste in his care. I have learned so much from him. And I owe him a lot for being who I am and for having whatever that I have now. His family, especially his wife Ate Cherina, is very close to my family. In fact, Ate Cherina was the one who brought Selena to KL twice!

Earlier, he hosted a lunch for all his company staff from Malaysia and Philippines and all his musicians/bands who are currently playing in Shanghai. It's very different from the previous gatherings he has hosted in Shanghai when we were here before because this time, we were joined by all his staff.

It started at 1:30PM. It was eat-all-you-can so appetizers and side orders were served on our tables. And the funny thing was I got full because of the corncobs I ate. I love corncobs! When I finished mine, I took my boss' corncob. Wasn't satisfied, so I jumped from one table to another and grabbed other people's corncobs (when I say I grabbed corncobs, we're talking about the "edible" type, not the "green" type ok! LOL). When the main course arrived, I couldn't eat my Chicken BBQ anymore! I was soooo full because of the corncobs I whacked! Non-stop clicking of cameras and loud laughters... it was such a great gathering to be missed. Lots of smiling faces... because there were lots of cameras around! Photos here: http://www.pbase.com/saritajc/funshanghai.

It ended at 4PM. And since it's also our pay day, Dang, Marl and I proceeded to Xujiahui to window shop (Brice took the subway train back home with Blue Heaven's Janet). I went for black-slacks hunting but I didn't find any that suits my taste. And besides, I'm really in a tight budget right now so I couldn't just spend on anything. I must spend wisely. Sooooo, the only thing that I bought is a 3 yuan mini coin purse!!! Hahaha!

We got back home at 6:20PM, jumped in the bed and took a nap for 4o minutes before preparing for work. Left home at 8PM, had a quick dinner with Brice before we started our work. It was a quiet night for a Friday. During our 3rd set, Janine, Darlene and Troy came to visit us. Photo taken: http://www.pbase.com/saritajc/lobbylounge.

Thursday entry

It's laundry day so I got up at 3PM to get ready. After my breakfast, Brice and I went to the hotel to send & pick-up our laundry. Brice had her late lunch while I proceeded to the supermarket to buy some needed stuff. We went back home at 5:30PM, which left a little time for me to tally our taxi fares for the whole week. The hotel hasn't given us the reimbursement for our transportation fares. I don't have enough budget anymore!!! Luckily our salary might be given tomorrow. I have to retire to bed early because we have a lunch appointment with our Boss and the people from our company who came to Shanghai for their annual company trip. Very excited to see our sister bands tomorrow. Will take photos for sure for me to show to y'all! Good night! Tah-tah!

About Wednesday

I overslept... I woke up at 5PM, went online to check mails then prepared for work. After dinner, I was still sleepy and kept on yawning. Lobby was full but not really listening to us. More on business talks. D'Zone Band came during our break, they dropped by because they'd usually finish early. They play at the Paulaner Brauhaus in Pudong near Shangri-La Hotel. When we got back onstage for our 3rd set, we were surprised to see the people from our agency's Kuala Lumpur and Manila offices. They just arrived for their annual company trip to Shanghai. After work, we went to meet with the Blue Heaven Band (of Paulaner Brauhaus Pudong) to "switch" food. When we arrived home, our friends Jun and Gaddi came to visit us. They stayed until almost 4:30AM. Afterwards Brice and I watched the Tagalog movie "Feng Shui", it's a great horror flick with a lame ending.

Oh well, I'm going to bed now. Have to send and pick-up our laundry to/from the hotel later. Have a nice day to all!

Other Sarita C.'s online

I was just searching for other people who might have the same name and last name initial as mine. I found an Indian singer named Sarita C. I think there's also a place called Sarita in Texas? But the best of all searches was finding a HORSE named "Miss Sarita C."!!!
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/index.php?query_type=horse&h=MISS+SARITA+C

At least, it's still a complement for me because I was born in the year of the horse, in Chinese astrology. I haven't really scoured all the items I have found, hopefully I will find more interesting stuff!

My Maxis simcard lost!

I forgot to let my friends from Malaysia know that I lost my Malaysian Maxis simcard when I got here in Shanghai. I promised them that I will still be contacted by SMS through my Maxis number. I hope some of you are reading this. Email me instead at mailme@saritac.com. Thanks!

Trying out...

This was taken 11 years ago when I was launched as a recording artist under Megamedia Records, with a screen name Cheliza Padilla, in GMA Supershow. Interviewing me was German "Kuya Germs" Moreno & Sheryl Cruz. Oh by the way, I was the one in black leather pants & vest with a wavy fringe! Hahahaha!
